The Project of The Sewage Treatment Plant at Qublai Khan, Karachi has been initiated by the joint consideration of different authorities, including the Defence Housing Authority and the Cantonment Board Clifton. This sewage plant will serve to treat and remove the sewage originating from the areas of DHA Phase-V and its extensions.

The project will be constructed near Sea View Beach, directly adjacent to the McDonald’s franchise situated on the strip. The project’s location, being positioned at one of the most busiest and famous picnic spots of the city, calls for extensive and thorough environmental analysis so that any nature of adverse effects to the climate and the landscape are avoided or prevented beforehand. Likewise, if there is any possibility of the environment being affected antagonistically, suitable and reliable mitigation measures are adopted to contradict them.
