As mentioned earlier, the K-IV project design was changed from an initially planned open canal, gravity-based supply system to a closed, pressurized pipeline, optimized pumping system. The adoption of the pressurized pipeline system has been considered by WAPDA to be the only viable and sustainable solution for the K-IV Project which also utilizes to the greatest extent possible, the already investments made in the project
