Muzaffarabad Social Welfare Association

Muzaffarabad Social Welfare Association was established when Muhammad Iqbal and Sheikh Mujeeb ur Rehman, realizing the social issues and development needs of the area, gathered local residents with the help of Fazal Mehmood Khan and Latif Hazarvi. On July 28, 1989, a meeting at Baldia Park decided to form the Muzaffarabad Social Welfare Association. Riyasat Khan Al-Barq became the first President and Sheikh Mujeeb ur Rehman the first General Secretary. Later, a constitutional committee led by Hashmat Ali and Muhammad Iqbal prepared a full constitution. The association achieved success and expanded its work to Muzaffarabad Colony.
