Problems and Proposals, Karachi’s Goods Transport
On 16 August 2018, the Urban Resource Center organized a public forum titled Problems and Proposals Regarding Karachi’s Goods Transport featuring speakers Noor Khan Niazi, Nadeem Arain, and Asad Iqbal Butt. The forum addressed the critical challenges facing the goods transport sector in Karachi and its impact on urban traffic flow, infrastructure, and public safety. Through detailed presentations and informed discussion, the session shed light on key issues such as the absence of designated routes for heavy vehicles, deteriorating road conditions, lack of regulatory oversight, and frequent traffic congestion in commercial zones.
