This study, initiated in 1971 as part of the preparatory work for the Master Plan, examines the railway network and traffic in the Karachi Metropolitan Region and the urban area. The report could not be finalized due to the shift in focus following the arrival of the UN consultant head, but it provides valuable insights into the region’s rail infrastructure and usage patterns.
