Starfish Karachi

Starfish Karachi was registered on November 18, 2002, under the leadership of Mr. Nadeem Qazi, a Pakistani long residing in the Netherlands. Sabir Iqbal was appointed President, Asar Javed General Secretary, Arif M. Shera Finance Secretary, and Mrs. Kashy Javed, Liaqat Shaz, and Javed Sadiq as members. On April 16, 2002, the society started a school in a rented building with two rooms, adding two more makeshift rooms with sheets. On the first day, 170 children enrolled. Monthly fees were set at 50 rupees for nursery to third grade and 80 rupees for fourth to eighth grade, which continues today. Teachers were initially supported by members from their homes due to financial challenges.
