Upgradation of N-65 Road – EIA Report

Upgradation of N-65 Road – EIA Report, completed in 2023, evaluates the environmental and socio-economic implications of expanding the Sukkur to Jacobabad section of the national highway. Spanning 68 kilometers and traversing the districts of Sukkur, Shikarpur, and Jacobabad, the project seeks to transform the existing two-lane road into a four-lane dual carriageway, including a new bypass at Shikarpur. This enhancement aims to address increasing inter-provincial traffic between Sindh, Punjab, and Balochistan while supporting regional economic growth.

The report includes detailed assessments of existing environmental conditions such as air quality, land use, water resources, and biodiversity along the project corridor. It outlines anticipated impacts across both the construction and operational phases and proposes a set of mitigation measures, environmental monitoring frameworks, and community engagement strategies. The EIA aligns with national environmental regulations and international best practices, offering a comprehensive foundation for informed decision-making by planners, regulators, and local stakeholders committed to sustainable infrastructure development.
