Yellow Line BRT – EIA Report
Yellow Line Bus Rapid Transit Corridor under the Karachi Mobility Project, managed by the Sindh Mass Transit Authority. The Yellow Line is a key component of Karachi’s integrated public transport plan, aimed at enhancing urban mobility, reducing traffic congestion, and improving air quality through a high-capacity, sustainable transit system. The report presents baseline environmental and social data along the proposed corridor, covering factors such as air and noise pollution, land use, traffic flow, and community infrastructure.
The EIA identifies potential impacts during the construction and operation of the BRT system, including disruptions to traffic, temporary environmental degradation, and effects on surrounding communities. It also proposes mitigation strategies, environmental management plans (EMP), and stakeholder engagement processes to ensure regulatory compliance and sustainable implementation. This volume serves as a foundational planning and review document for government bodies, financiers, and development partners involved in urban transport reform in Karachi.
