On 24 March 2014, the Urban Resource Center hosted a forum titled “Accidents in Karachi – A Research Overview on Causes and Effects,” featuring Dr. Rashid Jumma, Asad Jahangir, and Dr. Mir Shabbir Ali. The forum focused on the causes of accidents in Karachi, including factors like poor infrastructure, lack of traffic enforcement, and inadequate public awareness. The speakers presented research on the social, economic, and health impacts of these accidents. They stressed the need for comprehensive road safety measures, improved urban planning, and community engagement to reduce accidents and mitigate their negative effects.
