Kurrachee: Past, Present & Future – A.F. Baillie

The primary objectives in publishing this treatise on Kurrachee have been, firstly, to present a concise collection of facts about the city and port—information that may become difficult to recover from historical records in the future—and secondly, to advocate for the development of a railway system linking the Gateway to Central Asia and the Indus Valley with the Native Capital of India. While I have acknowledged the various authorities and sources that have greatly assisted in the compilation of this work, I feel it necessary to apologize to readers for the numerous comments and digressions interwoven throughout the text. Upon review, these interpolations occupy a considerable portion of the pages; however, it is my hope that this additional material helps to offset the otherwise serious and potentially monotonous nature of the subject.
