On 10 September 2014, the Urban Resource Center hosted a forum titled “The Proliferation of Weapons and the Rising Trends of Violence – An Overview of Causes and Effects,” with Naeem Sadiq as the speaker. The forum addressed the growing concerns of gun violence and its impact on Karachi. Naeem Sadiq discussed the factors contributing to the proliferation of weapons, including political instability, lack of law enforcement, and socio-economic disparities. He also highlighted the social, economic, and psychological effects of violence on communities and proposed solutions such as stricter gun control policies, better law enforcement, and social programs to reduce violence in urban areas.
