The Proposed Bus Rapid Transit Project

On 11 November 2015, the Urban Resource Center organized a forum titled “Transport Issues in Karachi – The Proposed Bus Rapid Transit Project,” featuring Ashar Lodhi, Arif Hasan, and Dr. Noman Ahmed. The forum addressed the growing transportation challenges in Karachi, including congestion, inadequate public transport, and environmental concerns. The speakers discussed the proposed Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project as a potential solution to these issues, emphasizing its role in improving mobility, reducing traffic, and promoting sustainable urban transport. The session highlighted the importance of effective planning, infrastructure investment, and public engagement to ensure the success of the BRT project in Karachi.
