On 02 June 2023, the Urban Resource Center organized a public forum titled “Women’s Travel Problems – Difficulties in Learning and Riding a Motorcycle,” featuring speakers Payyam Khurram and Arif Hasan. The forum examined the barriers women face in adopting motorcycles as a means of independent travel in urban environments. The discussion shed light on cultural norms, lack of training opportunities, inadequate infrastructure, and safety concerns that limit women’s mobility. The speakers emphasized the importance of addressing these challenges through inclusive transportation policies, awareness campaigns, and supportive urban design to ensure women have equal access to safe and reliable personal transport.
