On 30 March 2016, the Urban Resource Center organized a forum titled “Karachi’s Role in the 1946 Naval Uprising,” with Aslam Khwaja as the speaker. The forum explored the significant role Karachi played during the 1946 naval mutiny, a pivotal moment in the history of the Indian subcontinent. Aslam Khwaja discussed the political, social, and economic factors that led to the uprising and how Karachi, as a major port city, became a focal point for the protests.
