Proposed Compact Steel Plant – EIA Report

Proposed Compact Steel Plant EIA study has been conducted by Environmental Management Consultants (EMC) on behalf of M/s ASG Metals Limited (AML). The plant will be established on a 50-acre site within the Eastern Industrial Zone (EIZ/LL SP-08) of Port Qasim Authority, Karachi. This integrated steel plant will initially produce 96,000 tons of steel per year, with planned expansion to 190,000 tons annually. The plant’s production will focus on cast billets using recycled raw materials including shredded steel scrap (HMS 1 & 2) and Direct Reduced Iron (DRI)/Sponge Iron. Key components of the project include a meltshop for low carbon and stainless steel products, a wire drawing plant for various steel wires and fencing materials, and a rolling mill for hot-rolled bars, wire rods, beams, and profiles.
